“And for the first time on the screen, Robin Johnson…”…

The Italian movie poster features the American logo and the British painting of Nicky, but although it has some of the yellow-orange tint of the Belgian poster, it retains the artist’s signature by her knee and the attention to detail absent from the Belgian version. It’s definitely a reproduction of the painting, rather than the repainting featured on the Belgian poster.

I assume that the big space at the top is for the exhibiting theater to print its name and address and/or the showtimes.

Times Square opened in West Germany on May 21, 1982. The poster reproduced the painting by Cummins that had graced the other European posters, although with a different pair of photos than the British, Spanish, and Yugoslavian posters, and the addition of a paragraph of ad copy that seems to…

Another UK Movie Ad

This is almost identical to the ad from my last post, which appeared a in an unknown film magazine, but it promotes the film's wide opening "All Over London from Sunday." The previous ad has the premiere date, Thursday, 15 January, so it must have been published first. Either way,…

Pictures, but not of Robin. What a cheap post.   Robin is mentioned quite a bit though in Gilbert Adair's surprisingly positive and intellectual review, about which Karen (DefeatedandGifted) has written a much more incisive piece than I could ever hope to. So I suggest you just click that link…
