Black and white 8x6 photo of Robin Johnson during her "Times Square" promotional tour of England. Robin doesn’t remember exactly where this photo was taken, but it was during her publicity tour of the UK for Times Square, and probably in London. She also doesn’t think much of it as a photograph, but I think there’s something enchanting and 1940s-glamorous about it.

It was taken by an unknown staff photographer, or perhaps an enterprising paparazzo, for (or, and sold to) Monitor Press Features Ltd., for publication in whatever film magazine they could sell it to. But, I don’t believe it ever ran anywhere. This may be the first time it’s ever been seen publicly (except for in the auction I found it on).

The soundtrack album cover image on the cover of Australia's Juke no. 302 is the only Robin content in the issue, but it's still a remarkable piece of Times Square history. In Melbourne at least, PolyGram Records promoted the heck out of the film's premiere for an entire weekend, and…

Joepie, No. 365, March 15, 1981

"Geef mij maar New Wave." I don't know when Times Square opened in Belgium and the Netherlands, but the weekly entertainment magazine Joepie (which Google wants to translate for me as "Yay," but I think is more properly "Whoopie!"), devoted two pages in its March 15, 1981 issue to an…

This shot occurs as the crowd is assembling when they first spot her, though; it grows to at least five times this size. Still…
